Good, classic flavors and nose. A bit over extracted for us.

Fruity, gutsy, and straightforward. Nose has plenty of dark red fruits, a bit of raw beef, a very subtle note of cracked peppercorn, and yeasty freshly-baked bread scents. Already showing nicely on the palate, it’s fairly concentrated and nicely balanced. Think of it as a Cali Crozes. Great value.

The’22 California Syrah is another great bargain — not to mention great wine — from Bedrock. More serious than the ‘21, it’s got a beautiful nose full of rose, berry, and earth, followed by peppery black and blue fruit, minerality and medium tannins. Last year’s was a blast on day one; this one may need to come into its prime.
