Did a sort of father/son tasting with these two ‘16 Bedrock wines. Despite the Bedrock heritage having less zin for sure (couldn’t find percentages on the o & f but it’s listed as a zin), and subtle differences in winemaking, these were fairly similar. Not sure what they were like when young, but they were claret style and not showing a ton of fruit in comparison to a firm structure. These may be in an in between phase. I’d hold for a bit.

Enjoyed this quite a lot. Complex, balanced and more claret style than some vintages of this wine.

To me aging makes a positive difference with Bedrock wines. Nice and complex with woodsy notes, black fruits, licorice and more. Very enjoyable.

Dense. Blue fruit. Cassis. Licorice. A field blend (mostly zin) from pre-prohibition vines. Can’t wait to revisit in 5+ years.
