Very good GSM blend. Bought additional bottles. Top 10 2017 tasting at NCWC. Re-Tasting 12/26/17 - fantastic. Taking the unusual step of upping by two points to 92. Re-affirmed 6/21/18. Summer solstice calls for this delicious wine.

Taut, focused and beautifully balanced. The 50% Syrah is lifted and fresh, while the other grapes blend seamlessly. Possibly the most underrated Rhone blend made in the US. #beckmen #santaynez

The 2017 Cuvee le Bec, Steve Beckmen's red Rhone blend, is a tasty entry-level offering in this range. Lifted floral and spice notes add character to this flavorful, juicy red. Pours sangria in color. ON THE NOSE: Violets and red berries with a slight alcohol burn. ON THE PALATE: black cherry. Medium (-) body and short finish. Not a complex wine, but not meant for storing. Drink young.
