Birth year wine for a very good friend acquired from the irrepressible @Matthew Beckman still a lot of depth and density, solid structure and lots of red currant, grilled herbs, menthol and cedar. Pop and pour with confidence.

Mar 30th, 2017The oldest wine I've ever had. For a 37 year old bottle the wine held up remarkably well bu was on it's downswing. Balsamic on the nose, some lilac and white flowers, semisweet chocolate, rosemary, some earthiness. But on the tongue is where it falls apart. The body and structure are breaking apart and the finish borders on watery. Worth what I paid for the experience, if nothing else.
