Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Bright strawberry, plum, and light tobacco. Strong, firm tannic structure balanced with vibrant lilac floral notes.

Extremely soft and silky mouth feel. Low body. Lots of soft and delicate fruit notes wrapped with slate/graphite like flavors that leads to a med tannin and dry finish. Delicate wine that is understated and very tasty, let it breathe over an evening

Better with food and some air. Pretty acidic.

Soooo much acidity!

Sadly, not so good. Enough said.

Daughter asked me to evaluate wines from Trader Joe's. This is bottle #4 of 10 purchased. For $20, a nice wine, recognizable as Nebbiolo, but not really a 04 riserva.

Soft and silky mouth feel, sublime tannins. I’m glad I bought a whole case. 

I guess I expected more for a Riserva it was okay.

Dry rich tannins. Going to decant it then try again.

Yep that's a <$15 Trader Joe's crap shoot. Shows decent varietal character and energy for its age and bulk price point. Unsurprisingly exits the room mid sentence.
