Younger, more powerful and vibrant than it had any right to be…concentrated and dark. Superb, could go longer.

Really smoky, almost savoury, mushroomy nose. Medium finish and light tannins.

Mark N blew me away with this blind, guessed France. Fine structure, pencil lead and Syrah-like gameyness. Just couldn't place it as a Sangio for anything, though the sour cherry and leathery chocolate had faded. Prompted long, philosophical discussion (aided by very old single malt) ion the ageing potential of anything but the biggest Brunellos.

Showing its age, but it has good cedar, cinnamon, pomegranate, good acid backbone
