For a varietal I consider this wine an honest selection at an very affordable price. I would prefer if it had a little more time in the barrel. It has dark chocolate and coffee notes and a cranberry finish. It goes well with cheese (smoked Asiago and parmiggiano) light cooked steak (not grilled)and tomato sauce pasta.
