Sassella Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo

Gorgeous, rustic, soulful. Brimming with dried cherry and strawberry fruit, sweet licorice, mushroom, sweet medicinal herbs, flowers, cloves, sarsaparilla, cocoa, old wood and grandma purse lol. Acetic but right under my limit, brings some funk for me. Nice ripeness in the fruit, acidity is high, tannins are firm and lively. Diggin it

Dried, dehydrated red fruit. Some very light violet/lilac. Pickles. Mustard? Oaked. Medium body. Medium tannin - smooth palate. Medium- acid.

Elegant if a bit more fruity tooty than most Nebbiolo, but perfectly in balance and pleasant. Gives the impression of red fruit that is slight dried, slightly sour, slightly sweet. Fun wine that I think is clearly at its peak.

So fresh and light. Killer value.

Dried red fruit, rose, mint, violet on nose / strawberry big time, some leather in the background / fresh and light, with a little more complexity from the bottle age. Gorgeous.

Delicious! Red cherry, Ricola herbal notes, some iron. Valtellina rules! Paired beautifully w farro w porcinis and bacon

Beautiful mountain wine

Amazing bottle...floral notes followed by tobacco leaves, leather, and a saline backbone...

Not quite as good as the '01, but still a fantastic wine for the price.
