Bacigalupi
Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Normal service has been resumed.
In my opinion, this represents a benchmark in RRV chards.
Prior notes apply.
Raising a glass to Ruth Bader Ginsburg. What an impact she has had on our society. The world would be a much better place if we had more women in places of influence.

Another excellent showing in a very challenging year from this producer. It even grabbed the attention of wifey when she tasted it. Wines from the Baciaglupi vineyard are always tough to describe. They possess an atypical signature of flavors and complexity, which make them worth seeking out. Hints of lychees combine with baked bread and raw almonds. Lifted acidity keeps you returning for more - well done.

Dec 29th, 2019Freshly baked pastry and peaches bring together a great ensemble. In its youth, it was an ugly duckling - ugly no more! It’s now soft and rounded, suggesting short-term cellaring only. Beautiful layers and texture, but minimal acidity - @ Domodomo, NYC.

This has evolved to a great place. Loads of caramel and pears on the nose. Palate is rich and dense. Notes of apple crumble and orchard fruits. White flowers and soft spices bring up the rear - Jean Georges, Sag Harbor.

Sep 1st, 2019First of the blind white wines. Theme was new world Chardonnay.
Definitely seems to be unfined and unfiltered with a medium yellow hue. A touch of butter on the nose layered with honeysuckle and white stone fruits. Medium acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Buttery (not over the top) and smooth mouthfeel with notes of lemon and white flowers. Medium plus length finish. Drink till 2020.
Thank you Michelle for bringing!

Brunch in NYC with Bengy and Adam. No plastic cups here. Beautiful chard showing perfectly. Butterscotch and roasted almonds on the nose. Multi-layered on the palate. Tropical fruits, creme brûlée, with a hint of mossy notes. Finishes with tension and caramel.

May 6th, 2018Outstanding representation of RRV chard.
Big nose of almonds, brioche and lemon curd. Palate is weighty and viscous. Exotic notes of pineapple, melon and hints of sage, all wrapped in a precise envelope of acidity. Finish is luxurious. Comparing this to Aubert/Kistler, you must put this in your cellar.
