Past its prime, finishes short and a little tinny, most of the points are from the gorgeous nose.

I believe the wine was in chestnut casks for seven years prior to bottling. At first, felt very different. After a while, couldn't get enough. Wonderfully old school.

Ripe and fruit forward. Walnut with sandalwood undertones. Drinking well.

Drinking well is this 1999 Barbera. Hints of fresh fruit on the front, but an incredibly balanced and deep textured back. I could drink this all night - oh, wait I did. A great find!
