Via del Campo Falanghina

This full bodied white is made from the Falanghina grape - the main grape of Campania. Golden yellow in colour. Aromatics of mouldy apple and fresh herbs. Fermentation takes place in 70% stainless steel and 30% barrique which is the perfect oak influence for this wine I believe. I have previous Delectable notes for the 2018 vintage. A good white for when the weather cools down.

Pale yellow in colour. Aromas of pear and white flowers. Same pear notes on the medium weight palate with a saline mineral note and M plus acidity. Full in the mouth but remaining lively and fresh. Drink now to 2024 I think. I don’t have great experience with the grape Falanghina from Campania on the west coast of Italy as when we went there around 5 years ago we tasted mainly Fiano with the whites in Campania. I decided to have my 2nd and last bottle 28 weeks later on 22nd July 2022. Just as delicious and unctuous as previous. This time ripe grapefruit (refreshing acid cut) with honeysuckle and pear on the palate - an absolute mouthful of flavour from this full bodied white wine. Must buy again.

Nice fruit. Good acidity and minerality. Balanced. Some complexity. A nice effort.

A marvelous pairing for potato gnocchi with squid halibut collar, squid ink and ossetra caviar...salty minerality with notes of crushed rocks, citrus fruits and limestone

At dinner the other night, we ordered this in place of the Kenzo Sauvignon Blanc and it did not disappoint. Lovely tropical fruit notes. It was a great substitute for our favorite wine.

My first Falanghina and I absolutely adore this bottle.
Aromatic nose of peach, pineapple, start fruits, fresh herbs, and orange blossom. Elegant medium body with lovely round acidity and smooth texture. The palate is clean, fresh with mineral undertone yet has the feel of richness. Very impressive.
Via del Campo is planted entirely with Falanghina. Fermentation in 70/30 stainless steel/new French oak barrel.

Välsvarvad men lite för fruktig för min smak.
