Petra Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
Tuscany, Italy

Nose is ripe with tobacco, ash, earth, plum and cassis. Spice and cigar as well. Nice aromas. Refined and classy. Juicy and bright with nice freshness and good suave tannins. Nice cassis and big cherry berry fruit. Elegant and classy. Suave wine and very well made. Best Petra wine yet. Long finish. A lot to like here. Could go to 9.3 with air. 70% cab s/30% Merlot.

Nose is ripe and a bit less expressive than the 12. But a bit vulgar and overripe. Tar, ripe cassis, and tobacco. Palate is ripe, silky and nice enough but lack energy and distinction. I’d drink this. Long finish. Pretty good purity.

I love this wine but it's not for those that like traditional Tuscan blends. This is defintely new world in style with a touch of Italy. We brought this back from Subereto a few years ago and luckily found more in Chicago at Eataly.

Great bottle. Almost like a Cali Styled super Tuscan. Big fruit and body.

Toscana Rosso IGT 2011, 14.5%. Bottle tasted in October 2014.
Rich, full, elegant, persistent: a real pleasure!

Cab.Sauv. and Merlot, top of range , I'm slightly unhappy with this one. Again, technically good, but very liquid at taste and structure.

Love this wine, it is just gorgeous although not your typical Tuscan wine, great black cherry notes. That being said, my sons milk in the bottle next to it was apparently nicer.

Man this was a fantastic wine. Very similar characteristics to a Cali cab with 14.5% alcohol and a whole lot of fruit. Needs hours to breathe but as this puppy opens up it becomes more and more beautiful. Had it in a little town called Subereto not far from Bolgheri, home to more awesome Super Tuscans.
