2017 Le Ragnaie Bianco, 50/50 Trebbiano/Malvasia, a macerated white from Montalcino, not your everyday encounter so to say. Wonderful deep golden hue. Very interesting, complex and playful nose with yellow apples, orange zest, orange candy, honey, white flowers, marzipan and minerals. Fresh backbone on the palate with a tactile sensation on the mid palate that is framed by a good fruit intensity through a solid finish. Perfect interpretation of a creative and playful with the fundamentals within the frame and without going bananas.

5 year old macerated Trebbiano that would blow your doors off. sad this was the last bottle I know of. what a freaking treat.

@opentuesday Fantastic white - robust body and acidity with dark honeyed color. What a secret excellence. I wonder what it would do with a lot of age.

It certainly isn’t a shrinking violet.
N:Mangoes, Orange peel, honeysuckle, caramel.
Big flowers.
P: So dry… Almost like pulverized citrus, some grip, Almonds, pits. Austere but compelling.
This is 50/50 Trebbiano-Malvasia skin contact aged in big wood.
Not even on their website, last I looked.
