Grecanico (Garganega) and Insolia. this wine is freaking amazing. 2014 enjoyed 4/21. butterscotchy, really hard to pinpoint specific flavors. it’s just damned good.

Super digging this producer and their natural wines. Definitely a type of wine that is for the lovers of funk - if you can't enjoy a Flanders ale, or wines that are weird on the nose, then it may not be for you. The aromas are hard to relate, but it is funky earthy, petrol, and for some reason it takes me back to being a kid when my mom would be doing a perm in the basement for her clients. Weird I know, but the combination is intriguing.
The pallet is non reminiscent of the aromas, full of juicy acidity with tannin and phenolyc bitterness, tangelo, lemon curd, honeysuckle, and mineral.
Awesome wine to be paired with a napoletana pizza with lemon, goat cheese, and summer squash.

Thanks for the share, Kyle!

It’s really like nail polish/petrol. Someone who is a wine geek please explain this one to me

Tasted the 2014 in Jan 18 and it felt gone. Restrained nose with oxidative hints, brown sugar, low acidity and alcohol. Not my thing

Orange wine done right. Light skin contact, deep golden color, fresh apricot, honey, nothing in the way. COS doesn’t miss.

A dark amber in colour. A 50/50 blend of 2 Sicilian white grape varieties - Grecanico and Insolia. This is an Orange wine fermented on skins, in Concrete vats. Barb and I visited COS Winery In Sicily a few years ago and saw all of this process. I don’t believe wines like this benefit in any way from cellaring. We enjoyed this 107 weeks ago - see previous Delectable note when it had delicious notes of apricot and honey - now largely subdued.

Not at all what I expected but I'm digging the wine. Refreshing change of pace.

Bitter stem, with big skin contact. Not for everyone but very interesting. Nearly British cider like.
