Last month's #thetcwineclub was focused on red wine - as it gets colder, I naturally start to lean more to red wine as it tends to match well with my wintry dinner dishes. This 2016 Montepulciano from Francesco Cirelli in Abruzzo, Italy 🇮🇹 was a fab choice to go with our beef meatballs one night.

On the eye this organic red is a very attractive pale red colour in the glass. While on the nose, the spicy & fruity-ness is reminiscent of Grandma's homamde plum BBQ sauce according to Mr. Spittoon! On the palate it's juicy with rather powerful 💥 tannins and hints of dried fruits like sultanas and prunes coming through. Teamed with a bowlful of meatballs 🍝 - it went down a treat! All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes

Juicy, tart cherry & cola. Cool it and slam it down with prosciutto, figs & salami on a warm night in Palermo
