Aug 7th, 2021Past notes apply, but let's go through the motions. Decanted for 45 minutes. Nose: Tobacco, pine needles, soil, and a cherry base. Deep ruby in color, medium plus bodied, medium plus alcohol, medium acidity. More red cherry emerges on the palate, and pipe tobacco... More precisely, my dad's Captain Black from the 1980s. Taste not quite as complex as the smell. Finish is medium. Tannins are perfectly centered. This just misses my 94 point threshold.

Jul 11th, 2021Red brick color, mint, tobacco on the nose and on the palate. A bit of chocolate emerging on the palate. Acid and tannins will deliver this wine to another dimension in a few more years. Even now it's top shelf!

100% estate grown Sangiovese, aged in oak for 48 months. Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of ripe berry fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of juicy cherry and ripe blackberry with cacao, cedar spice and gentle pepper spice. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel and balance, complex long finish ending with earthy tobacco, fruit and oaky notes. Nice! Aging Well!
