Nose full of tar and ripe plum, veering to prune. Took an hour in the decanter to sort itself but then wonderfully balanced and layered. Black tea, darker plum, perfectly drying tannins to match the perfect, fatty short rib. I would drink up lest the drying tannins persist more as the fruit wanes.

Apr 19th, 2021Amazing nose on this wine. I would not clean my glass just to be able to keep smelling it. Nose had intense nose of game with a lot of smokiness. Very tannic and still quite acidic. Taste was not to the level of the smell but still excellent - notes of candied cherries.

Nov 27th, 2015For a hot year, you can taste the alc at 14.5%, a little tight on opening and the alc taste and overpowering never goes away. Cherry (almost cough syrup cherry notes), I wished I loved it but unbalanced and didn't open that much after a few hours.
