#wbc18 love this. Big punch on the palate in the best way possible. Grippy. Tar and leather. Superb.

One hour splash decant.
Cranberries and cherries, herbal seasonings, hints of black tea, leather and smoke. Medium-plus body, good length, good amount of acidity. Overall impression is cool-climate, more Bdx-like than Californian. At the moment a tad reticent, certainly not extracted or hedonistic.
I suppose some extra cellartime will add depth, body and complexity. Promising.

Mostly red fruits on the nose: cranberry, red cherry, with white pepper, licorice and a bit of cedar and soil. Medium ruby in color. Dry, medium + acidity, high alcohol, full bodied, palate of red to black fruit: blackberries emerge with vanilla bean. Medium tannins. Alcohol is a bit hot, but finish is long... albeit a little jammy for my taste. This is a very good wine that will get somewhat better over a couple of years.

World of Wines 4/13/18. Gentle tannins and an almost buttery finish. Drinkable without food for sure. If this was the last wine I ever tasted, I could die happy.
