Showing very well and put on weight and some alcohol blew off on day 2. Creamy rich yellow pear, honeyed overtones and nice oak treatment. 2-3 for optimum drinking.

This was my wife’s pick for Mother’s Day yesterday.
Consistently my favorite chardonnay out of Aubert’s lineup, this was utterly jaw dropping. This is one of the best white wines I’ve ever had (and is up there with a handful of SQN whites and older Marcassin Chardonnay). Every time I got a new glass, I meant to write a note, and every time I forgot because I couldn’t get over how good this was.
It was a touch reductive at first pour, but it yielded to a dizzying array of marzipan, nutmeg, orange blossom, lemon cream and caramel dipped golden delicious apple. On the palate, it continuously evolved revealing powdered sugar coated guava, frosted mango, sea salt and honey roasted nuts. It was both delicate and elegant while also powerful and commanding. The finish lingered for what seemed at least a minute. I still can’t get over how concentrated the fruit was alongside such acidity and structure. Sporting all of these characteristics right now is just a true and complex treat.

I wanted to think on this a bit more and give a honest assessment.
I am considering that maybe I might have enjoyed this a little younger, it seemed to lack some freshness. Overall...having had Chardonnay from Argentina and Australia that in omy opinion was equally as good (under $50 a bottle)..the QPR on this Aubert is not something I would do again.

Pop and pour. A majestic light gold color. On the nose: beautiful aromatics of pineapple, tangerine, floral, minerals, lemon zest. Taste: Nice! A rich, creamy, slightly chalky full body wine with pear, lemon rind, peach, apple, minerals, and a spiced grapefruit long finish. What a treat to drink, but no hurry!

The 2016 Lauren has really evolved since I had it last a couple of years ago. A lot of the bright lemon peel and white flower aromatics have given way to more complex, more subtle earthy components, highlighted by aromas of what I can only describe as a subtle yeast-like aroma - toasted bread. Expansive on the palate, full bodied, with a 45-second finish. Tastes more like a Batard-Montrachet than a Sonoma chard. Should be cool to see where this goes as it contiues to evolve in the glass. Awesome.
