In isolation, this is a good chard. Displays bright notes of honey and citrus fruits on the nose. The palate is well behaved with honeydew melon and pineapple. Quite spicy on the mid-palate with hints of nutmeg and other warm spices. However, in comparison to the single vineyard designations, it lacks authority and presence. Still a very good chard. Buying it from the winery appears to be the cheapest option at $65 per.

Earthy, smoky on the nose with mango and pineapple to the palate. No trace of oak, a signature characteristic of Aubert Chardonnays. This is amazing as the wine spends a few month in French oak barrels. Before bottling....
