Tremendous depth and complexity. Aubert Chards are just so enjoyable. I get green apple and flint like others have said, but a lot of soul and earth wrapping it. Excellent today but would probably benefit from another 2 years.

On the nose, nearly candied; lemons & green melon, ripe green apple, lime juice, golden raisins, touch of sea spray, soft & delicate chalkiness/minerality, yellow florals and citrus blooms. On the palate, oily & creamy. The fruits are slightly candied like the nose. Meyer lemons, lime juice, green & golden apple, golden raisins, green melon balls, a touch of honey & buttered popcorn. The finish is full, round & lush. Acidity is ripping. It's flaw for me, the alcohol (15%) is a little high. It gives a slight burning sensation on the tongue & back of the throat. Photos of their Lauren Vineyard, beautiful Chardonnay grapes and Mark Aubert. Aubert's career in winemaking started in 1989 as the assistant winemaker at Peter Michael and grew into one of the most revered makers of Chardonnay & Pinot in the United States and perhaps the world.

13' Aubert Carneros Chard. I normally do not rate wines this low. But it's Mark, and it's Aubert. Not worth $60! So many great Chardonnays at that price point!!!! I'm in love with their single vineyards!!!! I was very kind on the rating😳.

The Carneros wines from Aubert are usually not my favorites - they have tended to be a bit over extracted for my tastes - but I may have to reconsider that if I let them age for a bit: this 2013 is excellent. Still doesn’t touch the Lauren vineyard wines - far and away my favorite - but this one has settled down considerably since we last tried it a few years back. Well integrated, and beautifully balanced provide you keep it below cellar temp (gets too flabby if it’s too close to room temp). Of course, this is splitting hairs: the starting point for Mark’s wines start is awesome and we just go from there!

Beautiful Chardonnay. Still as fresh as a daisy. No hurry to drink these.

Flowery notes, with some lemon zest and toast. Big and bold but not over the top!

For a second label chard this is pretty tasty. Much better than the Sonoma Coast. Flavor stood up to heavy garlic on the last glass. Like any Aubert (and most wines for that matter), I suggest a two hour decant

Very nice. Lemon, cream, and a bit of oak. Lovely.
