Happy Good Friday to everyone. I have opened the 2020 Au Bon Climat Pinot Gris Pinot Blanc. The blend is 60% Pinot Gris and 40% Pinot Blanc from Santa Barbara County, California.

Onnthe nose there is white peach, meyers lemon, lime, pear, hints of oak and minerality.

On the palate I am getting citrus, lemon, green apple, pear, yeast, vanilla and steely minerality.

This wine is medium to light body and medium to medium+ acidity with a long citrus gravel and steely mineral finish. Have a wonderful Easter weekend and drink some top tear wines. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Hung out with Jim Clendenen a few times, very good guy. This wine though, in my opinion, was very very light-too light on seafood ceviche & seared tuna

60% Pinot Gris (from their own Bien Nacido vineyard + fruit from El Camino and Sierra Madre vineyards) and 40% Pinot Blanc (all Bien Nacido). 2015 vintage. Pinot Gris is the first grape variety harvested every year, picked with low sugar and high acidity. This explains the crisp style of this wine. Fresh and mineral with modest complexity, but well-balanced.Abv. 13%.

Full malo?! Yup, it works. Not that crispy acid bomb you might expect- voluptuous in its insolence.

Expressive and appealing nose. Wet stone and flint, paired with layers of toasted almonds, lemon curd, peaches and cream. You can tell its spent time in oak but it's a compliment to the fruit and in no way overwhelming. Palate is very bright, full of juicy lemons, honey crisp apple and stone fruit. All cradled by lasting acidity, this wine out performs it's price point.
