Ripe red fruits with cherry to the fore. Also spice and a hint of ginger - smoky. A light to medium bodied palate finishing with ultra fine grained tannins. To be honest not as impressive as I was expecting. This wine seems to between youthful exuberance but not yet gaining complexity. I did have one a few years ago brought by a friend which was delicious. Try the next in a year or so.

Ahhhhh Friday! Tonight's wine is from Martinborough New Zealand the 2013 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir.

The nose has bright beautiful fruit very expressive. There is cranberry, cherry, raspberry, vanilla coke, spice, clove, floral notes and minerality.

The palate reveals a confirmation of the nose with cranberry, black cherry, black plum, herbs, spice, earthy mushroom, forest floor and some toasty oak.

A wonderfully balanced medium body wine with medium smooth fine tannins and medium + acidity that leads to a long enjoyable finish.

What a way to start the weekend. Love this wine. Please have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 🖒

Lovely red fruit, scrub herbs and pine tree. Volume in the palate, with fine tannins and good length. Very expressive, great wine. 2013 vintage

Well this isn't bad. Big fruit. Quite a bit of tannin for a PN. Love that gentle funkiness. Not bad at all...

Light smoky and tertiary notes (sous bois & animal) - but discreet and less intense than I expected. Very savoury and still fruity

Lots of structure! Fine grained firm tannins and loads of acid will ensure long life to this wine! Sour and slight sweet fruit wrapped by spiciness (amaro bitter) and a touch of oak.

Ruby colored. Black cherry and dark berry fruit on the nose with nice floral notes. Dark fruit predominates on the palate. More balanced and elegant in style with bright acidity.

Loved it, opened too cold. Almost citrus until warming/opening up, opulent, berries.
