What a pleasant surprise, complex with a long finish — 5 months ago
Ripe red fruits with cherry to the fore. Also spice and a hint of ginger - smoky. A light to medium bodied palate finishing with ultra fine grained tannins. To be honest not as impressive as I was expecting. This wine seems to be between youthful exuberance but not yet gaining complexity. I did have one a few years ago brought by a friend which was delicious. Try the next in a year or so. — 3 months ago
Smoky sulphides, struck match notes with Cashew nut and stone fruits. On the palate medium plus intensity bordering on profound. Peachy flavours with traces of Pineapple juice. Wonderful length and persistence. Have raved before on Delectable about the quality of New Zealand Chardonnay and this wine reinforces that view. Great QPR at only $30. Jancis said it’s like a good traditional Meursault. Excellent new world Chardonnay. Tasted again 15 weeks later on 1st October 2020 with consistent notes. Great QPR as stated above. Hard to understand why their excellent Pinot Noir is more than twice the price. — 7 months ago
