Arnot-Roberts
Sonoma Coast Syrah

This was a treat. I brought this as a classic style of Syrah from Sonoma Coast for blind tasting night. Bright overtone red fruit, light funkiness, grilled meat character, and dried lavender. They may not have been known first for their Syrah, but they sure are ridiculously delicious. Worth every penny, and this one was a lil young, so worth aging as well.

Gorgeous Syrah. Great purity of fruit and expression of the more floral side of the varietal. Low alcohol, medium-bodied and elegant with lingering acidity. Itβs so refreshing to taste these wines, devoid of new oak and heavy extraction. Pursuit of balance attained in Sonoma Coast.

The 2015 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is another of the many highlights in this range from Arnot-Roberts. Inky and intense, and yet light on its feet, the 2015 has it all. Violet, lavender and black pepper add aromatic nuance. The 2015 was done with 100% whole clusters, but the stems aren't especially noticeable. This is a fabulous wine from Duncan Arnot and Nathan Roberts. Even better, it is a stunning value. Don't miss it! (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2017)

This is a beautiful wine. What Vinous missed, or what may not have been showing earlier, is the overt violets on the nose.

Eye opener in terms of a fresh and elegant Syrah. Easy drinking from start to finish but give a bit of time in the glass so the spices and fruit really complement the acidity.

Bright red and black berry notes on the nose; medium weight on the palate with an obvious and welcome lightness from the acid/tannin balance. Vital and alive without a hint of jammyness and a long focused finish. I love the Low ABV and the way it washes over your tongue without any sense of weight.
