Third time having 2015 in the last 6 months. This bottle happened to be particularly more muted aromatically than previous bottles but a lengthy decant finally reveals its deep and intense layers of ripe stone fruits, toasted hazelnuts and smoky minerals. On the palate there’s such great texture, density and depth that you just don’t find in village outside of Ente and Coche. It’s always special to experience these two. 2015 notably gains significantly in both volume and focus with air and the ripeness of the vintage is balanced by racy citrusy acids. A triumph in 2015 village Meursault. Just be sure to give it plenty of air!

This bottle was showing less reduction and was a lot more giving from the get-go than the one I had last fall. It shows such incredible layers of stone fruit, citrus, hazelnut and smoky minerals. It continues to gain both volume and focus with air and the palate has amazing texture, weight and such impressive depth for a village wine. Coche and Ente truly do play in a different league.

Quite a bit of reduction and a bit tart on the palate initially, but once decanted it doesn’t take long at all for it to come together. Reduction moves aside and gives way to incredible depth of stone fruit and smoky minerals. It gains volume and focus in the decanter, and on the palate, similarly to how I describe Coche, there is such amazing texture and midpalate depth for a village wine. The finish is incredibly persistent as well. Excellent.

One of the best villages meursaults. Refined, precise, great acidity and length. Unfortunately not enough of it.
