Monterey County Petite Sirah
I don’t drink a lot of petit sirah, so I don’t have much basis for comparison. I did love it, though. Fruit forward, a bit musty, but in a good way. I was looking for something a bit off the beaten path, and I got it.

Has opened up nicely.

Lots of dark tart fruit up front, but of old rag and earth and Spivey finish. Soft with some vanilla and sarsaparilla. An honest wine, if a bit lacking in tannins and structure.

Dec 15th, 2018First time...not bad. Big fan of Petit Syrah. Lots of fruit up front, but a nice spice to it as well! Nice drinkability for a midweek meal...chicken pot pie as entree and a strong/pungent Brie from Calvados as a pre-dinner nibble. Played well with both.
