Argyros
Estate Santorini Assyrtiko
Green fruited, just a bit buttery and lactic, some oak and tropical fruit. Great length and lots of acid, just a bit generic. Distracting so2.

Jun 24th, 2018The majesty of old vines at work, Argyros offers an intensely focused, stony expression of Assyrtiko with finely chiseled flavors of gunflint, iodine, oyster shell, lemon pith, and salt block. The AVERAGE vine age is 150 years, but some of these ungrafted vines reach 300 years of age. A wine of velocity, precision, and cut. 100% Assyrtiko.

Wine 2 in Matt's Santorini tasting. Has very very clean steely character that leaves my mouth with a metal taste afterwards. Very pure and a good example, but would be difficult to drink a whole bottle.
