Translucent gold. Powerful, smoke-tinged orchard and pit fruit aromas, along with a suave floral overtone and a hint of honey. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering pliant nectarine, orange and poached pear flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows fine definition and a touch of toasty lees on a long, subtly chewy finish that leaves a sexy floral note behind. Disgorged in July 2019. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2020)

Sep 3rd, 2020Beautiful sparkler from one of the best in the US. Bottle fermented and aged on the yeast for 10 years! 2009 was a warm growing season in Oregon, and the fruit for this vintage was harvested in 6 days! This is a creamy textured sparkler with hints of roasted hazelnut, quince/pear, and brioche. Beautifully long finish. 59% Pinot and 42% Chardonnay. 80% from Knudsen Vineyard and 20% from Lone Star Vineyard. Only 1,500 cases produced. It’s one of the best spelling wines I’ve had from Argyle. Get it while (and if) you can!
