peppery, easy sipping without food but would go well w/ food. Very smooth but full to mouth (first red in Florence)

Had the 2012 vintage to start the night. Nice fruit and spice with excellent finish. Needs a little time to breathe.

Had 2011 in Venice while sitting on the water at La Calcina - tannins a bit strong at first but mellowed, dark fruits and a smooth finish - opens nice with a bit of air

Delicate to the nose, with iodide side touch and extraordinary caramel and almond flavors. Vigorous entry, complex bodied, firm but equilibrated and delicate citric notes with a balanced, slight and almost subliminal bitter texture, of pleasant and persistent mouth taste. Finishes with an unctuous and prolonged dissipation with almonds taste.

Smokey. Burning wood and cured meats. Lightly oaked with a smooth raspberry mouthfeel.
