Beautiful, Rhone styling with California fruit. Starting to resolve, lush but restrained, plums and meat. Lightly bretty, perfect for me, but YMMV.

Caught this bottle at the perfect moment - fruit, meat, smoke, pepper. The only thing that separates this from a Cornas is the elevated ABV, but it's so well balanced that it just comes across weightier then you'd find in the northern Rhone. Beautiful.

Bit of funk on the nose which lifted, then engaging fruit and a smooth finish

Bigger and more alcoholic than I like but lovely balance of black fruit, meat, spice. Has a long life yet

Big, mouth filling but with meaty tones along with rich black fruit. I still like my Syrah better at 12.5% than 15% though, but this is good.

This was more enjoyable when first opened vs having it in the decanter for a couple of hours. Might not of caught this at the right time. Fruit is still present with some tannin. After it was opened it seemed like the tannin structure didn't evolve much. Went well with homemade pizzas on the grill.
