I always get nervous when I open an older red and there's zero sediment and the cork is barely stained. Usually means held in Inox and heavily filtered when finally bottled years after it should have been. Result? A wine stripped of character. Tannin, acid, and dried twigs predominate. Can still sense some nice macerated cherry fruit, but otherwise just tired and sinewy. Kind of a shame for what was, decades ago, a proud old house.
