Whiff of barnyard after pulling the cork. Blew off after an hour in the decanter. Black cherry, leafy herbal notes on the nose and palate. Medium bodied and good acidity. Served with prime rib.

With dinner. Least cab franc of anything we tasted in the Loire. Vineyard shared with Clos Rougeard. Aged in old Bordeaux barrels. To me, it lacked the acid and fruit of fresher wine from Domaine de la Chevalerie and Chateau Fosse Seche.
