A polarizing wine without question, but one that I am absolutely enthralled with every time I open a bottle. This, SQN and Andremily’s rosés all belong to a special group that does not follow red wines steps, nor rosés…a category all to their own.

This would be a perfect candidate for a black glass tasting. Texturally and structure wise, this is like a mix of whole cluster Pinot with a hint of Syrah. Dark ruby in the glass. Aromatically it has ripe strawberry, sage and whole cluster spice. Concentrated, yet light and vibrant on the palate. Bing cherry, cran-raspberry, black tea, peppercorn crusted rhubarb notes but also a light streak of iron down the middle. Not quite sanguine, but plenty of punch and spice to the fruit.

These can age really well (oldest I’ve had was one with 6yrs, and it was fantastic), so no rush. If you’re looking for a typical rosé profile, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for something you’ve likely not experienced before, you’ll be glad you tried this.

From terrific wine maker Maggie Harrison, a Rosé like no other. It drinks almost like a natural red Burgundy. It reminded me of Prieure Roch Le Cloud or Sylvain Pataille Marsannay. Good depth to it and nicely textured showing a cool minerality, balanced acidity, cherry bubblegum, mandarin orange and a touch of damp earth and Asian spice. I had it left out and off of ice and treated it like a red. Seemed to be the right move as it becomes more expressive the less cold it is. Super unique wine and happy to have finally tried it! Great stuff.

A serious rose or more like a carbonic Pinot noir. A style I adore. Strawberry licorice and blood orange, woodsy and incense like on the nose. Tart red fruits in balance on the palate. Wonderful.

WNH event number 4. Perfect Pizza Pairing bottles. Not a bad bottle in the bunch!

My contribution. I was told that even though this is a Rosé, it drinks like a pinot. Couldn’t agree more. Dark ruby in the glass. Aromatically it was ripe strawberry, sage and vibrant citrus notes. Concentrated, yet light on the palate. Bing cherry, dragon fruit, watermelon finish. Incredible Rosé that should be viewed as a pinot.

Quite unique and compelling. I appreciate the complexity and density that Antica Terra achieves without being overbearing or over the top.

More over known as a light red. Maggie Harrison crafts and outstanding, luscious, herbal, fruit driven, yet undertones of organic earth. This 2014 "Rose" stands on its own.
