Anomaly Vineyards
Designation Cabernet Sauvignon
St. Helena, Napa Valley, California, USA

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, black plums, blackberries, dried figs, cedar, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and spices.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, blackberries, cooked cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, spices, dark chocolates, licorice, coffee, light black tea and peppercorn.
Short finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a delicious, yet so young Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Elegant and rich. Complex and entertaining. Well balanced and spicy. Really enjoyed the nose.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes in the decanter.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 to 20 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc with some Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged for 22 months in (90% new) French oak barrels. A tiny production of only 7 barrels.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$300.

Still a wonderful mouth feel. Maybe a touch of cocoa, holding up well with burrata, tomato.

Another 09 to celebrate our anniversary last Sunday. Bottle no. 085. Deep and dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Tight nose even after an hour, with notes of dark cocoa, spices, anise and dark cherries. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Lots of dark spices on the palate with some black cherries, anise, and dark bitter cocoa. Long and lingering finish, a touch dry too. Drink till 2028. (93+)

Remarkably soft for a young-ish Napa cab! Blueberry and dark red fruit with subtle oak tones. Some tannic structure on the back end suggesting that this wine has an ongoing life in the cellar.
