Deep dark purple in the glass, muted at first but with air the aromatics of blackberries, violets, cracked pepper, graphite and dried leaves come out to play. Palate-saturating and velvety in the mouth with finely grained tannins and sweet dark berry fruit. Beautiful and should last a while

Anjou Cab Franc from the Leflaives of Burgundy fame. Superb but needs air and/or time. Tannins still fairly firm but super fine. Nose has musty earth, smoke, graphite and autumnal dried leaves, with black cherries and red forest berries and wood spice on the palate. Finish is velvety smooth. Perfect balance. Saved half the bottle for tomorrow night with great reluctance.

Not very clear, should be unfiltered. Strong black olives and graphite nose. Raging high acidity and moderate plus tannin. This wine needs food for sure.

Very well made and elegant. Dramatic acidity, sour cherry, plenty of funk. A bit pricy though.
