Andrew Rich
Croft Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
Note that his vintage makes no claim of vineyard sourcing, claiming only Willamette Valley on the label.
Pale yellow. Nose is typical for SB with a range of green and yellow citrus fruits, chalky/mineral reductive tones and a hint of resinous green herbs. Palate is medium bodied, dry, medium plus acid with balanced alcohol.

Light straw color. Expressive nose with aromas of lime zest, pear, gooseberry, and freshly cut grass. Medium bodied featuring flavors of ripe lime and green apple. Crisp, refreshing finish with vibrant acidity. Andrew Rich and Croft Vineyards from whom the fruit is sourced are amongst the few Willamette Valley producers of Sauvignon Blanc. Single vineyard bottling. 14.1% alcohol. $22.

Jun 30th, 2018Joy to drink. Soft and juicy for SB but not the type of sweetness I associate with some California ones.

Apr 26th, 2018Andrew Rich’s Sauvignon Blanc Croft Vineyard has long been among Oregon’s best Sauvignons. Concentrated, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruit and floral qualities hearken to the Loire Valley, while the wine’s and depth and balance make it extremely flexible at the table or on its own. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Feb 2018) $23.00

Feb 5th, 2018Yummy Sauvignon Blanc. Very good, but I prefer the drier and crisper ones. Top 10 2017 tasting at NCWC.
