This was one of the wines I served for my annual WWC hosting. All wines served blind.

I won't ramble on here as I've reviewed a few vintages of this wine (spoiler alert, I love it), but I'll reinforce how nice it is to drink rose that is made with intention and not afterthought.

This vintage is around 50% syrah, with the balance a split between grenache and mourvedre (the dominant grape can change across vintages). I chose this vintage as the following three reds were all different expressions of syrah, so I figured a rose of syrah would be a good lead up.

Nearing pinot color with how intense the ruby red is in the glass, big aromatics of herbs (light stem/whole cluster), cranberry, blackberry, rose water, even some dark potpurri. On the palate it is a textural experience with mid-weight but full-on flavor (spiced blackberries, peppered rhubarb, mixed berry compote). Spice and heat linger toward the finish with fresh acidity and tannin. Not a rose for the faint of heart, but a total flavor-bomb for those who love the style.

Thought I had a couple more of these but realized after the last glass that this was my last 2019! A perfect wine for early Fall in Texas.

I don’t recall the makeup of this vintage, but I’m assuming it’s close to the usual Syrah/Mourvèdre blend.

Followed over two days.

Translucent ruby in the glass. Massive aromatics of ripe black raspberries, peppered strawberry purée and cherry jerky notes on both the nose and palate. There’s a hint of green herbs/whole cluster spice but not overpowering. At 6yrs, this “rosé” is settling in and showed very balanced and less hot than they can show when young. Shockingly, the last glass I had on day two was my favorite sip. So much flavor and depth in a wine that falls in to its own category (along with Antica Terra’s Angelicall rosé and maybe a handful of others).

My fourth wine of my annual CC hosting (after the 2018 Antica Terra Angelicall).

My last of six bottles of the 2018, and I didn’t experience much decline over the last two years for this “rosé”. Big and structured. I poured this next to the Antica Terra Angelicall (another rosé by name only), and whereas the AT drank like an OR pinot with stem and herbal notes, the Andremily sported more heft and tannin. Translucent ruby in the glass. Ripe black raspberries, peppered strawberry purée and cherry jerky notes on both the nose and palate. There’s a hint of green/herbs but it’s faint. Undoubtedly a Rhône lovers style rosé. Love it or hate it style, and I can’t get enough. This winery just knocks everything out of the park for me.

Couldn’t ask for anything more amazing…and the wine is pretty good, too.

A little Valentines Day Rose. This is in a different Rose category for sure. Well made and drinking beautifully.

It was fun to be a part of the Andremily Zoom tasting. Decided to open the 2016 Rose as a starter before we got into the 2017 Mourvèdre. I gave the Rose a 1 hr decant per Jim’s instruction...and it certainly needed it. It’s not your everyday Rose, darker in color and a lot more going on. Drinks more like a Pinot. Loved it.
