This beautiful, medium dark wine displays a nose which is bursting with ripe fruit - cherry, raspberry, cranberry - adorned by tobacco, clove, nutmeg and black pepper. The palate is lush with the fruit - but has a savory side, too. The acidity is fresh and lively, while the tannins are muscular. It is, as always, a great pair with any kind of meat - especially straight from the grill.

This medium-dark wine is loaded with blackberry aromas, but not so much that the savory side slips away. Intense minerality is at work, a reminder of the oyster shell dirt that is Santa Margarita Ranch, the southernmost wine region in the Paso Robles AVA. Black pepper also checks in, along with a hint of lavender. The palate is marked by dark fruit and minerals, with a nice acidity and tannins with a firm grip. The finish is chalky and moderate.

For $20 this is a slam dunk. Loads of fruit, spice and a faint taste of mint tea on the finish. Great value and a solid Paso Robles Zinfandel.

Dark purple in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, wildflowers, alcohol, spices, chocolates, mocha, coffee, peppercorn, earth, black tea and light vegetables.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, sweet spice box, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, wood and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice surprise. A great Zinfandel from Paso Robles, California. Very fruity and nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Not too complex, but very enjoyable.

This Single Vineyard Zinfandel is good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up (90 minutes). Easy drinking and enjoyable by itself or with food and would pair very well with a burger.

I paired it with light appetizers and good friends.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$21.

Showing great right now. Refreshing mid-palate fruit, plumpness and acid. Gorgeous Santa Margarita Ranch red fruits of pomegranate and cherry, with cinnamon spice laced into the long and generous finish. Texture and mineral depth are abundant. Broad but finishes with nice precision and focus. French and American oak. 100% Zinfandel. 14.6% ABV.

Bold fruit forward Paso Robles Zinfandel. Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas of cooked raspberries, cinnamon and vanilla. Red and black cherry, blackberry and black raspberry on the palate with hints of coffee and black licorice. Black pepper spice note on the lengthy but elegant finish. Nice balance of acidity and alcohol and tannins (though noticeable) are in check. Luscious texture. Thanks for sharing, Keith S!

Somewhat different style than the zinfandels from this region that you might be used to. This is not the overblown punch you in your face ripe red fruit Zin. This is it has an elegance to it and restrain fruit gives way to a very balanced wine with a sense of place. Absolutely delicious.
