Amavi Cellars
Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Biiiiig! Tons of ripe fruit and oak. Delicious but you have to have food to stand up to it.

Feb 10th, 2015I was getting a bit grumpy with this wine. Thought it would readily open up. But it was tight, plenty tannins and no fruit. Decanted it. Waited an hour. Still tight, green....then, after two hours, suddenly within 15 minutes it opened up the treasure chest. Deep, earthy, spicy. It became a dark, exiting mystery ride through deep woods.

Nov 5th, 2016So velvety smooth. Did not decant. Maybe should have. Moderate smooth tannins. Dark stone fruits. With new leather finish.
