Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course an hour. The 2022 Loibenberg pours a pale straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, bright tropical fruit with lemon citrus and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose but on the comes across richer. The finish is long. A lovely, textbook example of Smaragd. Drink now through 2038.

A baby right now, but great to check in. Pineapple, wild mint, slate.

Killer. Petrol, apricot, honey, baked apple, cheese rind, white mushroom, so much going on. Viscosity balanced by ripping acidity even after 17 years. Gorgeous

Pale bright gold - such clarity. Nose giving little on first opening except faint herbal notes. With air aromas of Apricot and a touch of Lychee. Medium bodied and at 13% Alcohol fermented to dryness. The following night it had filled out even more on the palate - very flavoursome and delicious. Interestingly viticulture in Wachau goes back to the 5th Century. Must drink more Austrian Riesling.

Steely but full bodied, petrol notes. Delicious like an Alsatian

BAM! As soon as you tilt your head forward you are met with an onslaught of orchards, citrus and minerals. Very assertive in the mouth with wonderful acidity to guide you through a very long finish.

Like honeydew, with a nice touch of apricots and minerality.
