Jun 4th, 2021Even more toffee than the Solera Cream, with the obvious molasses comparison coming to mind. Black tea also very evident on the nose.

Sep 6th, 2018Rich, mahogany-colored in the glass. The 1927 Alvear PX is incredibly weighty, lush and dense. Golden raisin, fig purée and caramel along with an ethereal note of candied orange peel. Intensely sweet, but nicely balanced with acidity, it is entirely mouth coating and silky. Finishes with a slinky, meandering ribbon of dark chocolate. Wow.

2 people found it helpfulJul 6th, 2014The NV Solera 1927 is a sun-dried Pedro Ximénez wine sourced from Sierra de Montilla. Aged for 20 years in a very old solera, this mahogany-colored wine offers aromas of caramel, saffron and tar, along with licorice and herbal notes. Very sweet and concentrated, the palate reveals a wild herb core with a balanced and potent mouthfeel. Despite its sweetness, it maintains balance with a warm, rich heart—a unique sip from Montilla.
