The 2019 Cuvée Edmond is an outstanding Sancerre, but it has a price tag to match. It is already drinking beautifully with its ripe apple, white stone fruit and subtle savory characters enveloped within its succulent, round and concentrated core. The conclusion is a delight with a chalky coating covering the entire mouth and a fine line of tension weaving the wine together. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2022)

Pale gold in colour. First of 2 bottles. I should have drunk these earlier but had lost them in my cellar. Oxidative notes with apricot and some liqueur like notes. With time it lost some of the oxidative and liqueur characters and gave a saline note. In a masked tasting I would never pick this as as Sauvignon Blanc. I guess I need to taste more oaked Sancerre. The following day still that oxidative note. Still apricot notes on that medium weight mouth filling palate with low acid and a grassy note. Had my last bottle on 11th September 2021 with consistent notes. As mentioned above I wish I had consumed these a few years earlier. Still that oxidative note which lessened after about 30 minutes. Apricot and quince. You would never pick this as Sauvignon Blanc as mentioned before.

Very impressive sancerre...classic intense nose of grapefruit, lemon/lime, tart on palate, vegetal in background with some jalapeño and slight bell pepper...slight oak on this with baking spices and unusual for sancerre...acid medium + ....well balanced and perfect with homemade chicken teriyaki with veggies/bell peppers..

Brilliant Sancerre with a very light oak influence. Great minerality with chalk and flint happily supporting grapefruit, lemon, apple and a whiff of cut grass. Great depth, firm acidity and very expressive. A tremendous example of upscale Sauvignon blanc

Initial impressions were this was a little over the hill. The colour of mid Gold was a worry and the sherry like nuances on nose and palate. A mature Cheddar Cheese helped the overall impression immensely for this Sancerre. I sourced this bottle from an online retailer and my other 2 bottles from the importer. Will be interesting to see if there is a difference.

Nice melons and stone fruit. Tart. Too much SO2. Capsicum notes.

By far my favorite Sancerre. Soft, racy, perfectly balanced. The minerals are not lost on this.

This shows a lot more pineapple and a hint of saline/ozone. The combination brings botrytis to mind. The wine is very richly textured with high acid. It is very good, but for this money I'd rather drink Burgundy.
