A fruit forward expression. Big on jammy berries. Tannin showed up a bit later.

Sipping Fine Wine

Alpha Omega is located in legendary Rutherford in the heart of Napa and is one of Napa's newest boutique wineries. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot & 7% Cabernet Franc. Wow Wine, but needs decanting first. Very dark with purple tints, aromas of complex berry, pepper and herb spice. Flavors of strawberry and blackberry emerge, a touch jammy at times, licorice and cedar notes. Well balanced, big fine tannins, lingering, rich, ending with earthy mineral tones. Very Nice!

Better than the Single varietal Cabernet. This had better length and polish with the additions of the other Bordeaux varietals. It's still not super lengthy, but the balance is all there. Delicious and almost crunchy red and blue fruits with a little coffee and bay leaf.

To celebrate my 4000th review on vivino, here is a beautiful, beautiful Bordeaux blend from Napa.

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, cedar, earth, vanilla, leather, raisins, mocha, chocolates, coke, tobacco leaf, cinnamon, eucalyptus, Indian spices, pencil lead and black pepper.

Full bodied, smooth, elegant and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, ripe plums, cherry pie, dried figs, tobacco leaf, graphite, spices, vanilla, cedar, cinnamon, coffee, mocha, coke, light bell pepper, earth, peppercorn and leather.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a fabulous Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Showing great complexity and balance. This 9 year old is still very fruity with all these chocolate and mocha notes.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes), and gets earthier after 90 minutes.

Although this is drinking so very nicely now, it could age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Wine Enthusiasts 92 points.

A blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 22 Months in 80% New oak barrels. Some of the grapes came from the To Kalon Vineyard.

Delicious, delightful and exquisite.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

98 points.

$150.

After dinner wine. One hour plus in the the decanter.

On the nose, sweet, bright, floral fruits of, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, purple fruits, black plum, creamed mixed berries, a dark fruit liqueur presence, loads of baking spices; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg & vanilla bean. Caramel, some black licorice, dark spices, volcanic minerals, crushed dry rocks, saddle-wood, some dry herbs and amazing dark, fresh floral bouquet.

The body is round and full. Tannins still quite firm...tarry like. The structure, tension, length & balance is beginning to take excellent form. The fruits are ripe, lush, brightly, dark floral & ruby. Bright, floral fruits of, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, purple fruits, black plum, strawberries, creamed mixed berries, a dark fruit liqueur presence, mixed berry liqueur cola, loads of baking spices; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg & strong vanilla. Caramel, milk & dark chocolate, some black licorice, dark spices, volcanic minerals, crushed dry rocks, saddle-wood, some dry herbs and amazing dark, fresh floral bouquet. The acidity is round and nicely done. The long, ruby, ripe, lush, elegant finish is a really excellent. It last 5 minutes.

Only a slight fault, a little heat in the alcohol that fades the more it opens up on the long decant. This wine is still youthful & will last another 10 years properly stored.

Hedonistic and full of rich fruits and dried greens. Finish hang and develops to overripe currant and pipe tobacco. Not sure it will get better with age, but it's super polished right now.
