Alpha Estate
Pinot Noir
Unfiltered greek PN strongly influenced by Burgundy influence..The mouth is voluminous, built on a dual relationship between cherry/mushrooms and notes of aging in oak barrels. We would like to find a specific characteristic a little more marked to distinguish it. 🇬🇷

Not at all what I expected. Full bodied for a Pinot.

Jan 5th, 20172011 vintage. Quite a bit riper on the nose than the '12. Hot. Blackberry and leathery. On the palate, sharp. High alcohol and medium plus body. Black plums and meaty / savoury character. Rough tannins. Not as good as the '12.

May 28th, 20152012 vintage. Medium ruby hue. 30 mins in the glass. Leather and earth notes, medicinal and herby. Black fruit profile. On the palate, quite full bodied and medium tannins - grippy. Leather more pronounced, savoury and earthy. Medium plus concentration and finish. Surprisingly good - who knew the Greeks could make a drinkable Pinot (no disrespect intended!).
