Lots of blueberries in this wine. Earthy with dark berries. Well made.

Aromas of black cherries, plums, licorice, sweet pipe tobacco and charcoal. Medium to full bodied with sweet tannins. Flavors of black cherries, blackberries, plum skins and a touch of chocolate. It finishes with tart cranberries and smoking cherry wood.

Really tight at first, but it opened up nicely after awhile. Good ball of cherry, oak and vanilla flavors.

Of six RdDs, this was my favorite. At bit closed at first, then smoky meats and raisins. Full bodied and powerful with ripe cherries, oak and chocolate on the finish. Surprising, since it was one of the cheapest of the evening.

Cherry and bacon nose. Tart red fruits on the palate. Racy finish.

Little eggy diaper funk up front but blew off to reveal notes of dried figs, oak, vanilla, and a dry dusty oxidized Tempranillo character that I love.

Color is still dark but starting to show some age. Lovely ripe black cherry and cherry blossom aromatics. Linear on the palate with nice acidity. Ripe blackberry and cedar in the mouth.

"this bottle of the flagship line is deep red in the glass, powerfully spicy and fruity on the nose and concentrated on the palate, with notes of wildflowers licorice and a bit of toast. 90 + scores from Wine advocate, Suckling, and Admin."
