A #wine blog for the #winegeek and #winelover with a bit of adult language and humor. Joey Casco, CSW
Purple with a little bit of reddishness. I love the burning ethanol fumes. There’s aromas of plums, pomegranate, strawberry licorice, black table pepper, spearmint, and mocha. Full bodied and rich with sweet tannin. There’s flavors of plums, raspberries, anise, and vanilla. The finish is by far my favorite part. Raspberries continue but there’s also an uplift into red fruit with cherries, a dip into darkness with mocha, and a classy touch of sweetness with burnt sugar. — 7 years ago
Ruby red with purple highlights. Aromas of plums, raspberries, chocolate, and cloves. It’s medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and bitter, piney tannin that doesn’t feel much aligned with the rest of the wine. There’s flavors of currant, blackberries, plums and tea. It finishes with plums and the feeling that something is missing. Would like more character for $20. — 7 years ago
Ruby red with high to medium clarity. Cherries and black tea are the dominant aromas, backed up with cinnamon, sandalwood, and dried rose petals. It’s medium bodied, ridiculously smooth, with a rather low acidity and rich mouthfeel for what I was expecting. Flavors of cherries, leather, and freshly sharpened pencils... but the star of the midpalate is the deeeeeep mocha. It finishes with fine-grained, cedary tannin, some ethanol heat, a thick caramel coating, and flavors of cherries and leather. — 7 years ago
Pale yellow. Aromas of lemons, limes, peaches, and oregano. Medium bodied with a sometimes dusty mouthfeel and a lively, zesty acidity. There’s flavors of lemons, peaches, nectarines, and steel. Then it finishes with a tart, salivating acidity and lemon candy. — 7 years ago
Deep burgundy in color. There’s a toasty feeling on the nose above aromas of dates, black cherries, raspberry sauce, sandalwood, and sweet tobacco. On the palate it has a super soft mouthfeel with a medium body and dense tannin. There’s flavors of black currant, raspberries, vanilla, and leather. Then it finishes with black currant and leather. NOMMY NOMMY! — 7 years ago
Very dark garnet. The nose is alive with cherries, licorice, and caramel, but from there it’s just... meh. It’s waaaaaaaay too flat soda-ish (if that makes any sense), bland, and box winey. I can see how giving it a slight chill would make it quaffable, but I shouldn’t have to do that for what it’s supposed to be. — 7 years ago
Ruby red grapefruit in color. There’s a floral aroma with fruit aromas of watermelon, strawberry, cranberry, and a little piece of fresh plastic. It’s a fuller bodied and richer rosato with mild acidity and a little bit of an oily mouthfeel. Flavors of watermelon, strawberry, and peaches. Bold and succulent, managing to be juicy fruity but still crisp and clean. — 7 years ago
The inviting breadiness and nuttiness on the nose reeled me in. There’s also aromas of yellow pears, green apples, and white flowers. On the palate it’s full bodied with an acidity that’s very well behaved and balanced. For flavors it’s a bowlful of mellow fruit like yellow pears, honeydew melon, and cantaloupe, getting an uplifting brightness from tart green apples. This is some awesome Prosecco. — 7 years ago
Cherry red. On the nose there’s a minerality of cracked stone above aromas of of rose petals, cherry cola, brown spices, and licorice. It’s light bodied with soft tannin and an uplifting acidity. There’s flavors of tart red berries, strawberries, cinnamon and dried herbs. It finishes with mouth-watering acidity and flavors of strawberries and cinnamon. Give it a slight chill for a delicious summer red. — 7 years ago

Dark ruby red. Aromas of juicy black cherries, cranberries, vanilla, hot cinnamon, and black licorice. Medium bodied and ridiculously soft and lush in mouthfeel, with dusty tannin and just a little pep to its acidity. Flavors of black cherries, cranberries, raisins, sweet tobacco, hot cinnamon, and black licorice. It finishes with that dusty tannin and flavors of cranberries and hot cinnamon. Midpalates are rarely my favorite part of a wine, but this lovely lady is so satisfying and elegant that it’s easily my favorite part. — 7 years ago
