Ruby red with high to medium clarity. Cherries and black tea are the dominant aromas, backed up with cinnamon, sandalwood, and dried rose petals. It’s medium bodied, ridiculously smooth, with a rather low acidity and rich mouthfeel for what I was expecting. Flavors of cherries, leather, and freshly sharpened pencils... but the star of the midpalate is the deeeeeep mocha. It finishes with fine-grained, cedary tannin, some ethanol heat, a thick caramel coating, and flavors of cherries and leather.

Mar 13th, 2018Surprisingly full and ripe for a Pinot from Willamette. Noticeable new oak, heavy spice, and rich fruit. Not my preferred style but an interesting departure from what he eckme a pretty iconic style.
