Alois Lageder
Haberle Südtirol-Alto Adige DOC Pinot Bianco
Lovely higher-end release from a top-notch Alto-Adige producer. This one has more toasty notes thanks to lees aging, and some riper tropical fruit notes than the standard Weissburgunder. Delicious.

Mar 20th, 2015I had hoped for better, given the age if the vines and the low yield. Better than most everyday Italian Pinot blancs, and varietally correct -- but still unfortunately simple. Lots of appley, citrus pithy type fruit, with a nice mineral edge

lame vintage? needs time? or is Pinot bianco just always a little less than you want it to be?
