Ripe fruit, with amazing body. This a wine that pairs perfectly with prince. Luscious, shiny, deep and philosophical. What I want out of life, thus wine fulfills, for the time being. 2011.

The 2011 Palazzo della Torre is loaded with roasted figs (is this because I was just roasting figs? Maybe.) and sun baked plums. There is too, a beautiful earthy note, like dust in high summer, that echoes on the palate, lending complexity to high acidity and firm, ripe tannin along with an appealing touch of underbrush growing along a stony, arid hillside. Dried herbs on the finish and a touch of anise. Thyme, oregano. Definitely a food wine. Sample

What a wonderful color, Dark, dirty ruby with a burgundy rim.

Pleasant on the nose, yet simple, with blackberries, blueberries, raisins, sweet cherries, prunes, grape juice, light oak, licorice, spices and black pepper.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity, long legs and nicely balanced.

Fruity on the palate with blackberries, figs, cherries, raisins, black currants, oak, vanilla, earth, licorice and peppercorn.

Long finish with round, smooth tannins and tangy strawberries at the very end.

This is nice Italian Red with a Nice mouth feel. Not too complex, but interesting enough to have by itself.

The grapes that are used here are Corvina and Rondinella. This is a special process that includes drying a small part of the blend for 4 months and then added back to the original batch. This now goes through a second fermentation, and aged in oak barrels.

I Paired it with bruschetta. Very tasty.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Dried fruit and fresh grapes marry on the nose, perhaps the influence of the Sangiovese cutting through the Rodinella and Corvina. Good spice and some booziness. Dark dusty fruit predominates with gorgeous fresh plum and cassis. Rich, pure and clean. Very nice.

Dense plum, big oak and grippy tannins. Plush and big. Good value and a great alternative to pricier Amarone.

Kind of an overdone, mass-produced number. Exactly what it is supposed to be.

Spicy, tangy, layered. Not as much body as a typical Ripasso, a bit more character too after the initial illusion of smoothness. But then, it's not a typical Ripasso, with the Molinara grape omitted.

The oak comes through but is counterbalanced by the appassimento notes. Deep garnet red cherry viscosity.
